5,000-gallon tank replacements                                                   12/20/18

Scope Described

The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) outlines the need for replacement of the 5,000-gallon tanks at Chocorua pump house and Jungfrau pump house and for replacement of the 10,000-gallon tank at Summit pump house.  The CIP projects replacement of the Muddy Beach 5,000-gallon storage in 2019 as proposed with the tanks at Jungfrau and Chocorua to be replaced in 2023 and 2025 respectively.  The secondary storage tank at the Summit will be allowed to run to failure prior to being replaced.    

Cost Detail

Jungfrau tank $33,130

Chocorua tank $32,890

Funding will be from the Water Tank Capital Reserve Fund

Isolation valve cluster placement at Appenvel and Jungfrau      12/20/18

Project Description and Cost Detail        

Scope Described

To place a three-valve isolation cluster at the intersection of Appenvel and Jungfrau to allow for isolation of that area of the District’s water system without interrupting water service to a larger area.  Reduces number of houses impacted during water system repairs or upgrades in that section of the VDOE.

Como Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) pit upgrade                       12/20/18

Project Description and Cost Detail        

Scope Described

Update existing PRV set up with new meter and move set up into new vault from current cement pit.

Allows for improved metering of zone to aid in leak detection and updates valve access when reading meter.  Also allows for improved access when an adjustment is needed to the PRV for pressure stabilizing within zone.
